Original Harp Lager Bar Tap

Nice example of an original Harp Lager Tap Dispenser. Will make a nice display piece.Harp Lager is still brewed in Dundalk Co Louth. It was created  by Guinness in 1960 in its Great Northern Brewery in Dundalk as a response to the trend among drinkers in Britain and Ireland towards continental type Lager. The help of the distinguished German brewer ,Dr Herman Muender was enlisted and the former stout brewery was converted into a modern lager production plant. The brand was then marketed with the Brian Boru Harp as its emblem,In 2008 production ceased at the Dundalk facility and production moved to the main Guinness HQ at St James Gate.

Most famously Harp got a serious, immortal mention in the chorus of the Christy Moore classic song-Delirium Tremens!
“Goodbye to the Port and Brandy, to the Vodka and the Stag,
To the Schmiddick and the Harpic, the bottled draught and keg.
As I sat lookin’ up the Guinness ad I could never figure out
How your man stayed up on the surfboard after 14 pints of stout.”
